Raptors
Of the 36 species of raptors that are to be found in Australia, many, including the large soaring birds of prey, may be seen in the Southern Highlands. Present, though often not so conspicuous, are the smaller aggressive predators that wait in ambush. These include the fierce bird hunting Collared Sparrow-hawk, Brown and Grey Goshawks and the Black, Brown, Australian Hobby and Peregrine Falcons
